The EHS Manager is responsible for providing technical environmental, health and safety support to Ajinomoto Foods (AFNA) assigned plant(s). Essential functions include evaluating environmental, safety and health programs and coordinating plant activities to support local and corporate objectives. The EHS Manager will influence behavior and inspire commitment from all personnel to comply with Ajinomoto safety standards and maintain a safe work environment. The EHS Manager will oversee compliance with all corporate EHS programs and policies at the designated plant(s). Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate plant safety programs and recommend updates to safety practices. Review process-operating procedures and provide safety and health considerations. Participate in new process reviews, including hazard analyses and operator training. Collaborate with FSQA and Human Resources to maintain training records and renewal calendars. Conduct risk assessments, including Job Hazard Analyses and new equipment introductions. Develop and maintain equipment-specific LOTO procedures and conduct employee training. Assist with administrative programs, including SDS, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA reporting. Support Behavior-Based Safety initiatives through participation, data provision, coaching, and supervisory support. Review and report on injury/illness and near-miss incidents, and follow up as needed. Support incident case management and lead post-accident investigations and RCA. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations (e.g., PSM, RMP, SWPPP). Identify and communicate compliance issues, risks, and opportunities through audits and inspections. Monitor safety and health regulations, providing technical support for compliance. Engage in TPM to support continuous improvement efforts. Track and report on monthly Safety Scorecard metrics. Collaborate with Production/Operations to evaluate procedures and support continuous improvement. Perform other duties as assigned. Assist with HIPAA-related activities involving protected health information, as delegated. Position Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Safety, STEM, or related field required. Minimum five (5) years in an environmental, health, and safety role required. Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing experience preferred. Knowledge of safety and health programs, policies, risk management, and regulations preferred. Completion of OSHA 30-hour course required. Knowledge of auditing processes (ISO, OSHA, or equivalent) preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills required. Ability to work independently or in teams, with a proactive approach required. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to move around the plant, sit, use hands, reach, climb, speak, hear, and smell. Regularly stand, walk, and interact with employees. Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, color, and depth perception, and focus adjustment. Ability to work in varying temperatures and noise levels.
