Used Car Sales Manager – Brooklyn, NY
A busy, well‑established dealership in Brooklyn is looking for a proven
Used Car Manager
who knows how to drive results and keep inventory moving. This is a newly created role due to steady growth, and the dealer is ready to bring on a dedicated leader who can elevate the pre‑owned operation. Must be a hands‑on leader who actively walks the lot, knows their inventory inside and out, and is proactive to get used cars sold. Strong support on the recon side with a strong fixed ops department to get cars front‑line ready. This person will also have support in acquiring cars from a buyer.
The successful candidate is a Pre‑Owned Sales Manager who takes ownership, goes the extra mile, and is focused on long‑term success. The store averages 45‑50 used cars per month, but has the lot capacity and opportunity to be at 70+ used cars a month consistently with the right leadership – and has done it in the past. This person will have full support from the Dealer Principal to get their job done and the dealer has acquired additional lot space to house used car inventory. This is an excellent opportunity for a true Used Car Manager who knows how to make it happen.
Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of the Used Car department to hit monthly sales and gross targets
Manage inventory levels, aging, pricing strategy, and turn times
Stay on top of industry trends, market data, auction conditions, and competitive landscape
Source, appraise, and acquire used vehicles strategically (trade‑ins, auctions, etc.)
Oversee recon process to ensure timely, high‑quality retail‑ready vehicles
Develop strong merchandising and marketing strategies for online and on‑lot visibility
Desk deals, structure deals for profitability, and support the sales team in closing
Train, mentor, and motivate the sales staff for sustained performance
Ensure an excellent customer experience and maintain a professional presence in the showroom
Collaborate with other managers so each department can focus on their core responsibilities
Compensation
Compensation package will commensurate with experience but will be in the $150,000+ range for the successful candidate with a proven track record.
