The FP&A Financial Analyst is part of a team responsible for designing and implementing processes that promote the long‑term planning and analysis of Audax Private Equity, its affiliates, and its principals. The candidate will assist the company’s principals in making management decisions by working with various departments and external managers to develop integrated plans and budgets, as well as developing the systems driving the decision making. The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated team player with strong technical skills able to materialize concepts into effective, concise, and timely analysis.
In addition to demonstrating a broad understanding of finance, investments, and accounting, candidates will be assessed based on their capabilities in three key areas:
Developing and maintaining integrated firm‑wide business models
Performing recurring and ad‑hoc financial and operational analyses and reporting
Assisting in the development and implementation of systems and processes
Responsibilities
Updating existing and creating multivariable models outlining PE Business Unit P&Ls, cash flows, and capital requirements
Running sensitivity and scenario analyses, which include tax impacts, around model inputs
Updating projections based on actual data obtained from systems
Tracing the impact of company‑level performance, cash flows, and balance sheet items to the principals’ personal positions
Developing and conveying executive‑level summaries and recommendations as needed
Executing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting packages
Updating sale proceeds waterfalls for individual investments as well as funds, including estimates of carried interest
Assisting in responses to fundraising and investor requests
Compiling performance and holdings reporting
Documenting as‑is workflow and offering recommendations on efficiency improvements
Requirements / Qualifications
1–3 years professional experience in an analytical role developing financial models utilizing data‑driven systems
BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related major, with a solid grasp of investments and an exceptional GPA
Previous experience with alternative investments, especially private equity and hedge funds, a plus
Intermediate experience with Microsoft products, specifically Excel
Experience with Anaplan or other budgeting/forecasting software, fund accounting software, and SQL or Snowflake language a plus
Good understanding of accounting a plus
Demonstrated ability to break down complex concepts and explain them
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Keen attention to detail
Location: Boston, MA. 2 days/week in office. These in‑office requirements may change based on the needs of the business.
For Massachusetts only: The base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $105,000. The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation may vary and will be determined based on but not limited to, the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and Audax reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. An employee may also be eligible for annual discretionary incentive compensation based on performance.
