Collins Aerospace has an immediate need for Sr Principal Engineer, Electrical Component Engineer within the supply chain engineering team.
The Component Engineer is responsible for managing the life cycle of electronic, circuit-board-level components used across avionics systems, engine controls, power systems, and other products manufactured by Collins Aerospace.
Component Engineers at Collins Aerospace act as the technical expert in collaboration with key stakeholders in Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Procurement, Obsolescence, Quality, and Supply Chain.
Specific responsibilities may include consultation with design engineering on part selection, qualification of components, performing root cause investigation and corrective action implementation, addressing part shortages and obsolescence, and technology roadmap management.
This role requires a leader with extensive experience with electronic components.
This role may be based either in Windsor Locks, CT or Rockford, IL.**Qualifications You Must Have:**- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM and minimum 107 years of experience years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 8+ years experience interpreting engineering drawings and electrical vendor data sheets8+ years experience working with electrical component obsolescence and product change notifications (PCNs)**Qualifications We Prefer:** Ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills and confidence in communicating with others to understand problems and work towards solutions.Demonstrated customer service experience, working with both technical and non-technical individuals and leaders* Understand and follow processes for and procedures for component management**What We Offer:****Some of our competitive benefits package includes:**• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
