Corporate Accountant
to join a purpose-driven finance team supporting affordable housing and community development in the Washington, DC area. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful financial operations and advance your career within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries for recurring expenses, revenue items, accruals, and treasury-related transactions.
Maintain general ledger accuracy through timely reconciliations and account analysis.
Track and reconcile donations, grants, and contributions in collaboration with fundraising teams.
Assist with external audit preparation and documentation.
Review accounts payable transactions for accuracy and policy adherence.
Support process improvement and automation in accounts payable procedures.
Lead daily cash monitoring and tracking inflows/outflows across bank accounts.
Assist with wire transfers, ACH payments, and capital calls.
Partner with development teams to support cost tracking and budget monitoring for projects.
Participate in tax-related processes and support special financial initiatives.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of GAAP; knowledge of fund or project accounting is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with MIP, Yardi, or similar systems is desirable.
Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, especially in support roles.
Familiarity with treasury functions and project-based financial tracking.
Initiative, analytical thinking, and a collaborative work style.
