Position Summary The Director of Pricing Strategy will lead and oversee the market event pricing team by setting strategies in line with the organization's overall business goals. They will lead team and collaborative teams to assess comprehensive market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and cost analysis to inform pricing decisions and strategies in the context of dynamic market events impacting the pharmaceutical supply chain and the PBM business. The role collaborates with sales, underwriting, trade, network, finance and executive leadership teams to support decision making, implement pricing strategies, monitor pricing performance, and ensure consistent and effective market event pricing practices throughout the organization.

This highly visible role and leader will oversee the full continuum of activity and develop executive reporting to provide insight into group performance. Overall, this high‑impact role will help to continue to distinguish CVS Health from its competitors and ensure CVS Health continues to win and retain business in the marketplace. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of accountability, innovation, proactive/strategic thinking, consultation and clear, concise communication. They should be accustomed to working in fast‑paced environments, managing priorities across a number of partners, and communicating effectively to senior leadership. They will be comfortable driving collaboration on cross‑functional teams.

What You Will Do

Lead with strategic leadership and guidance to collaborative teams, ensuring effective pricing strategies and operations are effectively progressed related to market events impacting the PBM, our clients and their members.

Implement comprehensive pricing strategies that align with business objectives, market dynamics, and customer needs, optimizing pricing decisions and maximizing financial performance.

Analyze pricing data, market trends, and competitive insights to generate actionable recommendations, supporting informed pricing decisions and improving market competitiveness.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with sales, underwriting, trade, business compliance, regulatory, proposals, finance and network teams to align pricing strategies with business goals.

Influence stakeholders through effective communication and negotiation, leveraging pricing expertise and industry knowledge to establish mutually beneficial partnerships and agreements.

Develop and maintain domain expertise across multiple levers of PBM and Enterprise profitability, including retail networking, enterprise dispensing, specialty dispensing, pharmaceutical manufacturer rebates, MAC pricing, and other product/clinical service offerings.

Apply experienced‑based pricing knowledge and insights to influence strategic decision‑making, contributing to the development of pricing policies, initiatives, and market positioning.

Counsel and mentor team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their business skills, industry expertise and professional development.

Required Qualifications

10+ years work experience within PBM financial levers and different lines of business (Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, etc.), project management or similar discipline.

3+ years experience in a leadership role.

Education

Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.

Masters preferred.

Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $100,000.00 – $231,540.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
