A premier national labor and employment law firm is seeking a highly motivated Traditional Labor Associate to join its Portland office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney passionate about labor law to work alongside respected partners, handle a variety of complex matters, and develop specialized expertise in collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, and unfair labor practice litigation. They are looking for a proactive, confident attorney who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to work directly with clients on high-impact cases.
Traditional Labor Associate Responsibilities Represent employers in traditional labor matters, including collective bargaining and contract administration Handle grievance arbitration proceedings and represent clients before the National Labor Relations Board Draft and respond to discovery, initial pleadings, and dispositive motions Take and defend depositions and argue motions before courts and administrative agencies Collaborate directly with clients to navigate day-to-day labor and employment challenges, including drafting and revising employee handbooks and conducting workplace training Work with multiple partners and manage a diverse caseload under the firm's free-market assignment system Traditional Labor Associate Requirements
2-5 years of traditional labor law experience Experience with collective bargaining and contract administration, including grievance arbitration Experience defending and prosecuting unfair labor practice charges before the NLRB is preferred Bar admission in Oregon required Excellent academic credentials and strong writing and analytical skills Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented with a self-starter mindset and a commitment to exceptional client service Benefits:
