seeks a committed leader who can inspire staff, support customers, and drive business growth with integrity. This role will take responsibility for store sales, service performance, team development, and operational standards while working an average schedule of 5‑6 days per week, 11‑hour shifts including rotating nights and weekends.

Primary Responsibilities

Achieve overall store sales goals and service objectives.

Manage and grow Professional Customer relationships and sales, including building and holding the team accountable to execute customer action plans.

Select, hire, develop, coach, and schedule store team members.

Ensure execution of all inventory and operational standards.

Coach all team members to deliver on Customer expectations (DIY and Professional).

Manage on‑duty responsibilities (touch base, coaching, floor/phone management, task assignment, safety, open/close duties).

Lead change management and embrace diversity to foster a respectful environment for both Customers and Team Members.

Secondary Responsibilities

Provide DIY services, including battery installation, testing, wiper installation, etc.

Assist District/Region in other functions upon request.

Execute and train on project and product quality recommendations.

Advanced parts lookup and sourcing.

Operate inventory systems and store equipment.

Recruit, select, hire, and develop quality team members.

Build and grow relationships with Professional Customers.

Essential Job Skills Necessary for Success as a General Manager

Working knowledge of automotive systems preferred.

Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships.

Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Calculate figures such as discounts, percentages, sales increases, and gross profit percent.

Analyze business reports, such as P&L statements.

Hold others accountable, inspect work quality, and give inspiring feedback.

Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Prior experience: 2‑3 years managing a team of 10‑20 members in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Proven profitability management; financial and business acumen.

Education

High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid driver’s license.

ASE certification preferred but not required.

Physical Demands The position requires walking or standing for extended periods, using hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds and sometimes up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment The work environment is predominantly inside the store, with occasional outside exposure to weather conditions. Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise levels are usually moderate.

Base Salary and Compensation Base salary will likely be between $45,000 and $60,000 plus bonus. Actual salary will be determined by the hiring manager based on experience and qualifications. (Most starting offers go out in the middle of this range.)

Position is eligible for sales commission based on individual or store performance.
