Dorsey & Whitney LLP is seeking a senior attorney with at least five years of experience to join the Patent Group in Denver or Seattle. Qualified candidates will have a technical background in software, electrical technologies—including circuit and logic designs, semiconductor structures, fabrication processes, and artificial intelligence. You will join an exceptional team of attorneys, agents, paralegals, and business professionals servicing a wide array of clients—from large multinational corporations to entrepreneurs and innovative startup companies. You will have responsibility for an active docket of patent prosecution matters—from drafting applications through all phases of domestic and foreign patent prosecution. You will counsel clients on patent strategy, conduct searches, prepare patentability, invalidity, and non‑infringement opinions, and participate in post‑grant activities at the USPTO, such as inter‑partes review and reexamination proceedings. In our general practice firm, there are also opportunities to support litigation and transactional practices. Depending on your experience level you will also have client management responsibilities.
Salary (Denver only):
$200,000 - $300,000, with an opportunity to earn additional contingent compensation. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area.
