Job Description:
The City of Dover is currently seeking applicants for the position of Motor Equipment Operator I in the Sanitation Division of Public Works Department. The primary duties of this position is to perform labor in support of City operations within the Sanitation Division, which involve a variety of semi-skilled tasks associated with the collection and transportation of municipal solid waste.
Job Responsibilities
Operate motor equipment to transport materials, tools, equipment, or personnel to job sites, load or haul dirt, or pick up debris from job sites.
Operate equipment such as trash/refuse pick up, snow removal, or other specialized operations.
Complete job-related logs and forms.
Overtime is required as needed.
Ability to perform medium to heavy work lifting up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of six (6) months of related experience preferred.
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), or the ability to obtain a CDL permit within two (2) months and CDL license within six (6) months is required.
Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical associated with the CDL.
A criminal background investigation and driving record review will be required. Candidates may be given a job-related test during the interview.
