Job Description Maintenance Manager has overall responsibility for equipment reliability, buildings and grounds and maintenance staff. Is responsible for skilled electrical and mechanical work including installation, maintenance and repair work on electrical systems, control and machinery used in the plastics extrusion process.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. Works in conjunction with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain all policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.

Manages and maintains ongoing preventive maintenance programs

Oversees effective maintenance management system.

Oversees upkeep of plant facility to include chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, fire protection systems, etc. to maintain in optimal working condition.

Supervises and implements plant projects for expansion and optimization

Manages Plant capital plan.

Acts as liaison to insurance inspectors, insurance company representatives, fire department, and other government regulatory agencies.

Reviews outside contractors compliance with Berry safe operating procedures, verifies insurance coverage.

Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, securing all required permits. Has understanding of regulatory codes and standards. Works closely with EH&S Manager and local authorities to assure compliance.

Maintains inventory levels of maintenance spare parts and production/safety supplies, conducting periodic audits.

Designs systems to reduce scheduled and unscheduled downtime.

Keeps all heavy equipment running and in good condition during operation.

Puts key metrics in place to measure/monitor maintenance staff and recycling departments performance and continuously improve both.

Participates and leads employee improvement teams to address scrap, quality, safety or other production related issues, promotes programs and encourages employee participation.

Trains all technical support personnel to provide consistent operational guidelines on all shifts.

WHAT WE VALUE

Industrial mechanical, electrical, pneumatic operations knowledge and process resolutions with ability to identify needed resources.

Preventative maintenance administration with an ability to enhance current systems.

Strong communication skills—both oral and written.

Strong organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and execute projects.

Ability to troubleshoot in a plastics processing environment preferred.

Intermediate to advanced computer skills to include MS Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD or equivalents.

Strong supervisory skills to lead projects and department personnel.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or engineering field is strongly preferred.

A minimum of 3 years of previous supervisory experience is required.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in facility maintenance within a manufacturing environment is required.
