What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. Independent contractors conduct property inspections to verify occupancy and report the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Responsibilities
Complete most inspections in 5–6 minutes. Finish each inspection within 4 days of assignment. Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards. Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments. Complete a short form in an app. Drive extended periods while making numerous stops within the assigned territory. Requirements
Computer with internet connection. Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you pay for your own gas). Smartphone (Android or iPhone). Printer. Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license. Pay and Hours
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection is paid a flat rate that varies by county and volume. While you are paid per inspection, your earnings are equivalent to $30–$40 per hour. Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you may complete 20–500 inspections per month while working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties offer higher rates, and higher volume counties offer lower rates. There is no set number of inspections per month; the work is consistent month-to-month.
