Full‑Time Store Manager Trainee (GRAND OPENING) Join us as a Store Manager Trainee at ALDI USA, learning all aspects of running a successful store in preparation to become a store manager.

Position Details

Full‑time position

45‑50 hours per week

Starting wage: $28.50 per hour

Estimated first‑year earnings: up to $89,500 (inclusive of salary and bonus, where applicable)

Responsibilities

Consistently demonstrate the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) as outlined for the role.

Supervise day‑to‑day operations and the performance of the team to provide the highest level of customer service.

Communicate and model core values to create a sense of teamwork and membership among employees.

Handle customer concerns and ensure an appropriate resolution.

Maintain proper store signage and ensure quality and freshness of ALDI products.

Assist in hiring store personnel by reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, and reviewing employment applications.

Prepare, manage, and revise weekly schedules to ensure appropriate store staffing levels.

Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports.

Conduct store meetings.

Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports.

Conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend personnel for advancement or termination.

Achieve store payroll and total loss budgets.

Manage cash audits in conjunction with direct leader according to company guidelines.

Monitor competitive environment and make recommendations to maintain a competitive position.

Provide product feedback on new items or discontinuations.

Ensure a safe environment by identifying and rectifying hazards.

Oversee product merchandising and maintain proper stock levels through product ordering.

Conduct store inventory counts and reconciliations.

Comply with all company policies and procedures while protecting confidentiality.

Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Stock merchandise from receiving to shelving; place product weighing up to 45 pounds at various heights.

Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk around the store.

Job Qualifications

Must be 18 years or older.

Ability to work independently and within a team.

Lead and provide prompt, courteous customer service to others.

Develop rapport, trust, and open communication to enhance growth and performance.

Interpret and apply company policies and procedures.

Set goals, guide employee performance, and ensure quality work.

Evaluate and drive performance of self and others.

Apply management principles concerning budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses.

Operate a cash register efficiently and accurately.

Operate equipment safely (electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, cardboard baler) and perform general cleaning duties.

Stay organized and multitask efficiently following instructions.

Meet any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment.

A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.

Prior management experience preferred.

Travel

Must have flexibility to train at multiple locations as required.
