Full‑Time Store Manager Trainee (GRAND OPENING)

As a Store Manager Trainee, you’ll train on all aspects of successfully running a store in preparation for running for your own store. You’ll be involved in supervising day‑to‑day store activities, ensuring overall store performance, identifying staffing needs, managing schedules and developing operational action plans while mentoring and developing the team.

$26.50 per hour
Year 1 earning potential:
Up to $80,500 (inclusive of salary and bonus)
Duties and Responsibilities
Consistently demonstrate the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) as outlined for the role.
Supervise day‑to‑day operations and performance of the team to provide the highest level of customer service.
Understand the overarching company strategy and model the core values, creating teamwork and membership.
Handle customer concerns and ensure appropriate resolutions.
Maintain proper store signage, product quality and freshness.
Assist in hiring by reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates.
Prepare, manage, and revise weekly schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports.
Conduct store meetings and identify training opportunities.
Conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend promotions or terminations as appropriate.
Achieve store payroll and total loss budgets.
Manage cash audits in accordance with company guidelines.
Monitor community competitiveness and recommend adjustments to maintain position.
Provide product feedback regarding new items or discontinuation.
Ensure a safe environment by identifying hazards and maintaining equipment.
Oversee product merchandising and maintain proper stock levels through ordering.
Conduct inventory counts and reconciliations per company guidelines.
Comply with all established company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
Stock merchandise from receiving to shelving, placing items up to 45 lbs.
Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry and walk throughout the store.
Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Job Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older.
Work independently and as part of a team.
Provide and lead others in prompt, courteous customer service.
Develop rapport, trust, and open communication with direct reports.
Interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
Set goals and guide employee performance.
Evaluate and drive performance of self and others.
Apply management principles regarding budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses.
Operate cash register efficiently and accurately.
Safely operate equipment such as electric jack, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, and perform general cleaning.
Stay organized and multi‑task, following instructions and paying attention to detail.
Meet state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of 3 years progressive retail experience.
Prior management experience preferred.
Travel
Will train at multiple locations and must travel within divisional requirements.
