Finance Director
– This position is under the supervision of the County Administrator. Essential functions include performing a variety of complex professional, administrative and accounting/finance functions for the County, performs cost control activities, monitors revenues and expenditures, prepares and manages annual budget, assures effective and efficient use of budgeted funds, provides professional financial advice to the county administrator and board of commissioners, makes presentations at various county meetings, prepares and oversees the county’s annual audit. Also develops financial studies and plans, forecasts, estimates and monitors the financial condition of the county to assure its fiscal well-being, and creates funds and department line items as needed. Initial salary range is $87,194 - $100,277. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of progressively responsible governmental accounting or finance work, CPA or CPFO is preferred but not required. Must have considerable knowledge and use of GAAP, fund accounting theory, principles and practices, public finance, fiscal planning, budgetary, accounting and reporting systems. Demonstrated ability to maintain professional integrity and respect for colleagues, co-workers, public and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
