The

Project Manager

is responsible for leading, coordinating, and delivering mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong communication with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact and plays a critical role in driving project success and long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Lead overall project planning, budgeting, and scheduling from award to closeout.

Review project scope, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Coordinate pre-construction meetings, project kickoff meetings, and regular site check-ins.

Develop and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial tracking.

Review labor hours, production rates, change orders, and pay applications.

Ensure accurate coding in job cost systems and work closely with accounting/finance on billing and cost reconciliation.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive strategies to maintain profitability.

Partner with field leadership, foremen, and superintendents to ensure work is executed per plan.

Oversee installation of mechanical systems including HVAC, piping, plumbing, sheet metal, and related scopes.

Ensure compliance with company and jobsite safety standards; address safety concerns promptly.

Support staffing plans and coordinate field resources to meet project requirements.

Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, engineers, and consultants.

Lead project meetings and issue weekly updates, RFI logs, and progress reports.

Manage expectations, provide proactive communication, and build long-term client relationships.

Prepare, review, and negotiate change orders.

Track all project documentation including RFIs, submittals, equipment logs, meeting minutes, and closeout documentation.

Ensure contract compliance and maintain organized and accurate project records.

Monitor field installation for quality and adherence to plans and specifications.

Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with engineering/field teams to resolve challenges.

Conduct punch walks and lead project closeout processes.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in mechanical construction, HVAC, piping, or industrial mechanical projects.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, construction processes, and industry standards.

Experience managing projects ranging from $1M–$15M+.

Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

Solid understanding of estimating principles, job costing, and scheduling.

Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to travel to job sites as required.

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience in commercial, industrial, semiconductor, biotech, or healthcare mechanical projects.

Experience with design-build and design-assist delivery methods.

The salary range for this position is

$120k - $150k
