Position Overview Jacobs is seeking a Sr. Overhead Contact System (OCS) Engineer responsible for designing catenary systems for high-speed rail, commuter rail, light rail, and streetcar systems across the United States. The position is flexible to be based anywhere in the northeast U.S. with travel requirements as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare reports, plans, calculations, specifications, and estimates for OCS projects.
Design layout plans, wire profiles, and support structures such as cantilevers, portals, and head spans.
Work independently and collaboratively within teams to develop new and modify existing catenary systems.
Engage with engineers and project staff across various organizations and agencies.
Assist in developing initial design concepts and labor estimates for proposals.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Significant experience in catenary system design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD/MicroStation.
Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Compensation and Benefits Base salary range: $145,000 - $185,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Jacobs offers comprehensive health, welfare, retirement, and paid time off benefits, along with opportunities for bonuses and stock options.
