Overview Join Takeda as a Vice President, Global Program Leader (GPL) in our Cambridge office.

The GPL is responsible for the strategy, planning, and execution of global oncology programs from discovery through commercialization and lifecycle management, ensuring regulatory approval, product launch, and equitable patient access worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

Define the asset strategy and lead all development and lifecycle projects throughout the product lifecycle.

Drive regulatory approval, launch, and global patient access, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Communicate and partner with leadership across functions, ensuring alignment with Takeda values of Patient‑Trust‑Reputation‑Business.

Manage budgets, monitor variances, and report program progress, risks, and issues to executive management.

Lead and support the Global Program Team (GPT), providing strategic and tactical leadership and facilitating effective matrix management.

Develop and maintain systems for tracking KPIs, trending, learning, and program performance.

Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively managing issues to resolution.

Contribute to new opportunity assessments and feasibility studies for potential global programs.

Promote organizational reputation through stakeholder engagement and active participation in the GPL community.

Required Experience, Education, Knowledge and Skills

Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) or MBA.

Minimum 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including research & development and commercial operations.

Minimum 10 years of interdisciplinary global experience with complex projects, strategy and execution, and matrix team management.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in science or business.

Broad business/enterprise orientation.

Experience managing multiple NME global approvals.

Passion for developing others into future leaders.

Travel Requirements

Willingness to travel for meetings and client sites, including overnight trips; approximately 20‑25 % travel.

Compensation and Benefits Summary Base Salary Range:

$255,800.00 – $401,940.00 (U.S. based)

U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term and/or long‑term incentives and participate in medical, dental, vision, 401(k), disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, holidays, well‑being benefits, sick time and paid vacation per company policy.
