Position Overview GEICO seeks a Senior Engineer to lead design, development, testing, and deployment of Workday Financials modules in a tech‑first environment. Key responsibilities include architecture, security, and cross‑functional collaboration in a fast‑paced, high‑growth setting. The role requires broad, deep experience with Workday Financials (Billing, Procurement, Payables, Assets, General Ledger) and the configuration, implementation, and support of these modules.
Position Responsibilities
Provide expertise in Workday Financials modules—Billing, Procurement, Payables, Assets, General Ledger.
Manage system architecture of the Workday Financial system.
Provide support for Workday Security and other functional areas.
Build product definition and drive towards the right solution.
Engage in cross‑functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle.
Lead design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate engineering quality.
Ensure data and application accuracy through analysis, coding, clear documentation, and problem resolution.
Translate business and functional specifications into technical specifications.
Work with other teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in Workday tools and technologies.
Stay current on technical trends, participate in internal and external tech communities, and mentor other engineers.
Share best practices and continuously improve processes within and across teams.
Qualifications
Experience assessing current solutions and providing best practices.
Experience with Finance Transformation projects.
Knowledge of Workday development tools: EIB, Workday Studio, Report Writer, BIRT.
Experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions.
Expertise in creating complex calculated fields.
Experience developing systems that are scalable, resilient, and highly available.
Advanced understanding of monitoring concepts and tooling.
Experience with Agile methods and Azure.Experience architecting and designing new and current systems.
Strong problem‑solving ability.
Ability to excel in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficiency in developer tooling across the software development life cycle.
Ability to prioritize workload and execute tasks independently with timely follow‑up.
Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.
Experience
4+ years of professional software development experience within the Workday ecosystem—focused on Financials.
3+ years of experience with architecture and design.
2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
Work Model & Locations Hybrid model out of the following locations:
Palo Alto, CA
Dallas, TX
Chevy Chase, MD
Annual Salary Range $75,000.00 – $215,000.00 per year (general guideline; final offer considers experience, education, location, market, and business factors).
