Workday Financials - Senior Engineer *Hybrid*

Base pay range: $75,000.00/yr - $215,000.00/yr
Location: Hybrid work model – Palo Alto, CA; Dallas, TX; Chevy Chase, MD.
Position Responsibilities
Provide expertise in Workday Financials Modules – specifically Workday Billing, Procurement, Payables, Assets and General Ledger.
Manage system architecture of the Workday Financial system.
Provide support for Workday Security and other functional areas.
Build product definition and leverage technical skills to drive towards the right solution.
Engage in cross‑functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle.
Lead in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the team.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of data and applications through analysis, coding, clear documentation, and problem resolution.
Analyze and translate business and functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications.
Work with other teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in Workday tools and technologies.
Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with, and learning recent technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community.
Mentor other engineers.
Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.
Qualifications
Experience with assessing current solutions and providing best practices.
Experience with Finance Transformation projects.
Knowledge of Workday development tools (EIB, Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, BIRT).
Experience with designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions.
Expert at creating complex calculated fields.
Experience with developing systems that are scalable, resilient, and highly available.
Advanced understanding of monitoring concepts and tooling.
Experience with Agile methods and Azure.
Experience architecting and designing new and current systems.
Strong problem‑solving ability.
Ability to excel in a fast‑paced environment.
Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle.
Ability to prioritize workload and execute tasks independently, providing timely follow‑up and resolution.
Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.
Experience
4+ years of professional software development experience within Workday Ecosystem – focused on Financials.
3+ years of experience with architecture and design.
2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level
