FAR INSPECTIONS
FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.
What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and send independent contractors to verify occupancy. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.>
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
Inspectors contract at a county level. Inspectors are responsible for completing inspections within their county, sometimes sharing the county with another inspector if volume permits.
Responsibilities
Most inspections should only take 5-6.
Complete the inspection within 4 days.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.
Requirements (to be considered you must have the following)
Computer with an internet connection
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will pay your own gas)
Smartphone (Android or iPhone)
Printer
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of
$30-$40 per hour .
Depending on the county and if it is urban or you will complete anywhere from 20- inspections per month working 2-30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
