xLight is seeking a Senior Project Controls Analyst responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated project schedules, cost baselines, and earned value metrics for complex engineering and manufacturing projects. This role supports Project Management, Engineering, and Finance functions by ensuring accurate performance measurement, schedule integrity, and actionable insight into project health.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned scheduling and EVMS professional with extensive experience using

Primavera P6 ,

Microsoft Project , and

EVMS-compliant

control processes.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling

Develop, integrate, and maintain resource-loaded schedules using

Primavera P6

and

Microsoft Project .

Ensure schedules are networked logically with appropriate dependencies, constraints, calendars, and critical path analysis.

Support schedule baseline development, change control, and variance analysis.

Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to capture accurate activity durations and resource needs.

Earned Value Management (EVMS)

Support the implementation and maintenance of EVMS‑compliant project baselines.

Perform monthly earned value assessments, including CPI/SPI analysis, variance reporting, and estimate‑at‑completion (EAC) updates.

Assist Control Account Managers (CAMs) with planning, reporting, and baseline management.

Prepare EVMS documentation, reporting packages, and customer deliverables.

Program Controls & Analytics

Develop and present schedule reports, performance dashboards, risk metrics, and trend analyses to project and executive leadership.

Conduct critical path, near‑critical path, and schedule health analyses to identify execution risks.

Support Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development for large or multi‑project portfolios.

Track and monitor milestones, deliverables, procurement activities, and key interfaces.

Cross‑Functional Support

Work closely with engineering, project managers, finance, CAMs, and procurement to ensure accurate cost/schedule integration.

Provide guidance and training on scheduling, EVMS practices, and PMCS tools.

Assist proposal teams with schedule development, Basis of Estimates (BOEs), and resource planning.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field—or equivalent relevant experience.

7+ years of experience in project controls, planning & scheduling, or EVMS analysis on complex technical projects.

Advanced proficiency with

Primavera P6

and

Microsoft Project .

Demonstrated experience supporting or operating within an

EVMS‑compliant

environment.

Strong understanding of scheduling standards (NDIA, GAO, DOE).

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in research, aerospace, defense, DOE national laboratories, or advanced manufacturing environments.

Familiarity with superconducting accelerator systems, cryogenics, vacuum components, or technical R&D programs (a plus, not required).

Experience with Deltek Cobra, Acumen Fuse/Risk, or comparable project control tools.

PMP, PSP, EVP, or similar certifications.
