Vice President of Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Management

Filamatic seeks a dynamic, technically accomplished, and operationally skilled VP of Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Management to lead and inspire our engineering and operations teams. This high‑impact leadership position ensures our liquid filling and packaging machinery is designed, built, and delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The role oversees all operational disciplines from order receipt through delivery and field service support, driving continuous improvement and customer delight in a Build‑to‑Order / Mass Customization manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership

Lead and supervise Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Machine Shop, Supply Chain, Final Assembly, and Field Service departments.

Ensure complex industrial machinery and associated spare parts are shipped on time, within budget, and meeting or exceeding all customer requirements.

Oversee engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain management operations for a manufacturer of industrial machinery.

Manage R&D programs and innovation projects, preferably through Stage‑Gate processes, to ensure sustainable technological advancement.

Chair the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure perfect alignment between sales forecasts, production planning, and delivery commitments.

Partner with senior leadership to drive operational strategies that balance cost efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Ensure excellence in the internal and customer Factor Acceptance Testing (FAT).

Own execution of gross margin metrics across all product and service offerings to ensure target profitability.

Lead company safety program working closely with human resources on the execution, training, and communications associated with safety matters.

Continuous Improvement and Lean Enterprise

Champion Lean Six Sigma methodologies across all functions – ideally as a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Drive the use of Lean Enterprise Systems such as the Danaher Business System to promote process discipline and performance improvement.

Apply AI tools and data analytics to enhance continuous improvement, predictive maintenance, and process optimization.

Ensure adherence to and advancement of ISO and other quality control systems.

Strategic and Systems Excellence

Manage and optimize all engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, costing, and ERP modules.

Leverage enterprise systems such as Epicor, IFS, or SyteLine to drive productivity, data accuracy, and cost control.

Implement modern project management tools (Microsoft Project preferred) and methodologies aligned with PMI standards.

Partner with Finance to ensure operational activities support company profitability and cash flow objectives.

Oversee capital equipment improvement projects and facilities management.

Leadership and Culture

Build and motivate a high‑performing, collaborative organization rooted in customer centricity, accountability, and teamwork.

Mentor and develop future leaders through coaching, cross‑functional exposure, and career development programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.

MBA preferred but not required.

Proven success leading engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain functions at a manufacturer of industrial or capital machinery.

Demonstrated experience with Build‑to‑Order and Mass Customization manufacturing environments.

Strong experience with Sales and Operations Planning, Project Management, and ERP system optimization.

PMI certification and experience using Microsoft Project highly desirable.

APICS (CPIM or CSCP) certification in manufacturing and supply chain management strongly preferred.

Knowledge of Lean Enterprise Systems (Danaher or similar) preferred.

Experience applying AI tools to improve manufacturing, quality, or operational efficiency.

Deep familiarity with ISO quality systems and compliance frameworks.

Proven ability to ship complex industrial machinery on time, within budget, and to specification.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaborative management skills with a customer‑first mindset.

Salary Range: $160,000 – $190,000 per year

Benefits: 3 weeks of annual vacation, 10 paid holidays, 401(k) with company contribution, parental leave, and comprehensive health (3 plan options), dental, and vision coverage. Eligibility for insurance and 401(k) begins the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
