Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement materials management strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and ensure timely material availability.
Oversee the procurement process for raw materials, components, and MRO items, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
Manage and optimize inventory levels through demand forecasting, planning, and inventory control systems.
Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and relationship management to ensure reliable supply and favorable terms.
Coordinate with production, planning, and logistics teams to ensure seamless material flow and support production schedules.
Analyze material usage, lead times, and market trends to identify risks and opportunities for cost savings or efficiency gains.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the materials department, leveraging data and best practices.
Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
5+ years of progressive experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and strong data analysis skills (e.g., advanced Excel).
Deep understanding of inventory control, production planning, and logistics principles.
Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with experience managing a team.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Bonus Qualifications
APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Proficiency with advanced data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Experience leading ERP system implementation or optimization projects.
