Key Responsibilities
Source, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
Negotiate favorable terms, prices, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost efficiencies.
Create, issue, and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production to optimize material availability.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including lead time, quality, and single-source dependencies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction and supply chain efficiency.
Ensure purchased materials meet quality specifications and regulatory compliance.
Recommended Qualifications
Proven experience in direct material procurement within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) for purchasing and inventory management.
Demonstrated strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
Solid understanding of supply chain principles, inventory control, and logistics.
Bonus Qualifications
Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
Experience applying Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for strategic sourcing.
Familiarity with international sourcing, logistics, and customs regulations.
