Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping; ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded properly; provide material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving activities. Ensure that Material Handlers operate forklifts and walkie‑talkies safely following all safety policies and procedures. This position reports to the Cross Dock Supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receive, unload, and load shipments in/out of the Cross Dock. Operate material handling equipment and use an RF scanner. Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Lean warehousing principles. Work flexible 10–12 hour shifts when necessary and handle tasks requiring height awareness. Load and unload RJW trucks/trailers safely and efficiently, including using outside carrier equipment. Comply with safety policies while using lifting devices (forklifts and scissor lifts) and maintain clean initiative standards. Oversee proper storage of stock and movement of product into dock staging lanes or racks. Learn day‑to‑day warehouse operations. Verify orders are complete and accurate. Unload, load, and pick each customer order efficiently to minimize shipping costs and ensure product safety. Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager. Operate forklifts safely and efficiently, following all OSHA regulations, RJW safety policies, and procedures. Qualifications
2–4 years in a warehouse environment. Good stable work and attendance record. Sense of urgency, accountability, and ability to work with limited supervision. General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment. Ability to work as part of a team and provide leadership. Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English. Attention to detail and quality required. Strong communication, problem‑resolution, and people skills. Flexibility to work overtime when needed and provide coverage to other shifts. PC skills helpful. Ability to work in a fast‑paced warehouse. Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED. Warehousing certifications are a plus. Experience in building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders. Experienced in cross‑dock freight processes. Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; Write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals; Present information to groups of managers, clients, and customers. Mathematical Skills
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization; interpret various written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule instructions; determine root cause of problems and recommend corrective actions. Computer Skills
Knowledge of business operating systems, internet software, word processing, and spreadsheet software. Physical Demands
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds; stand for full shift (8 hours); work up to 16 hours when required; in sound physical health as determined by a licensed physician. Work Environment
Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud. Employer Rights and Employment Terms
