Piper Companies is seeking an Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in hardware analysis, design, and engineering and avionics systems to lead engineering efforts for a cutting edge, defense/aerospace initiative. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of greenfield project in aerospace. This role requires 4 days weekly onsite in Owego, NY .
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive hardware trade studies to evaluate design alternatives and optimize system performance
Perform detailed hardware analyses to ensure compliance with technical and regulatory requirements
Lead and contribute to hardware design efforts across the full development lifecycle
Provide engineering support to production programs, including on-site factory engagement and issue resolution
Develop and validate hardware test procedures, ensuring robust verification and quality assurance
Support hardware integration activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system functionality
Qualifications
7+ years of electrical engineering experience
5+ years of domain-specific experience in avionics or defense systems.
Avionic Human-Machine Interface
Cockpit and mission computing systems
Military aircraft navigation and sensors
Aircraft survivability
Understanding of time sensitive networking (TSN) and digital backbone networks
Thorough understanding of tactical communication and data links
Experience with DO-254 and DO-178 compliance.
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $72,000 - $150,000 (depending on experience)

Per Diem $2,848/month or Relocation Assistance are available
4-day work week (4x10 schedule) with 3 days off every week
