Systems Engineer – Flight & Avionics Systems

Data Intelligence, LLC (DI) is seeking a Systems Engineer to support system architecture, requirements development, and domain-level integration for an advanced military aviation platform. This role emphasizes Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and multi-domain requirements traceability across complex avionics systems.
This position is contingent upon winning award.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage system and subsystem requirements
Perform requirements decomposition, allocation, and traceability
Utilize MBSE tools (Cameo / SysML) to define and analyze system architectures
Support system design reviews and technical interchange meetings
Ensure alignment with DO-254 and DO-178 certification requirements
Author system documentation and verification planning artifacts
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics, and 5+ years of relevant experience - OR -
10+ years of direct experience in avionics systems, software, or hardware engineering
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in systems engineering
Experience with MBSE and requirements-driven development
Strong technical writing and communications skills
System-Level understanding across multiple domains, including expertise in at least one of the following:
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience developing SysML models using cameo
Architecture definition, interfaces, and traceability
Requirements Management
Development and management of system, subsystem, and interface requirements
Traceability across hardware, software, and integration domains
Avionics Systems Architecture
System-level understanding of avionics components and data flows
Experience supporting aircraft or mission systems preferred
Certification & Compliance (DO-254 / DO-178)
Understanding of certification impacts on system design and verification
Experience coordinating requirements with compliance constraints
Cross-Domain Integration
Collaboration across software, hardware, and integration teams
Ability to translate operational needs into technical architectures
Preferred Domain Expertise
Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:
AHMI Design
Glass Cockpit
Tactical Communications
Military Aircraft Navigation
Embedded Mission Systems
TSN & Backbone
Military Aircraft Systems
Aircraft Survivability systems
