Mortgage Field Services Inspector
FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders in Reno, NV.
What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the property inspection is to verify occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only, and about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
Responsibilities
Complete most inspections in 5–6 minutes.
Finish each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Spend extended periods driving and making multiple stops during the day in the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with an internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will pay for your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, the equivalent earnings range from
$30–$40 per hour .
Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates, and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set minimum; the workload remains consistent month‑to‑month.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
