Description

Responsibilities (Examples Of Functions and Tasks)
- Lecture/ Laboratory Presentation – Present lecture/laboratory information and concepts clearly; use current examples or analogies; provide instructional objectives; outline, summarize and emphasize major points; enhance presentations with visual aids, handouts, and demonstrations; answer student questions clearly; encourage student participation in classroom discussions.
- Student Performance Evaluation – Develop quizzes, examinations, term papers, homework assignments, projects, and laboratory assignments; monitor student activity during examinations; read, evaluate, and grade student responses; advise students on academic performance; refer students to appropriate student services for testing and tutoring.
- Lecture/ Laboratory Preparation – Review and select textbooks; develop supplemental materials and syllabi; prepare lesson plans; coordinate lectures with laboratory assignments. Peripheral: maintain memberships in professional groups to stay current.
- Curriculum Development – Review and evaluate curriculum; work with local businesses and advisory committees; coordinate with faculty to ensure course consistency; present proposals for curriculum changes to committees.
- Shared Governance Activities – Attend and participate in meetings; represent department in district-wide activities; participate in faculty committees; peripheral: read minutes and updates to stay informed.
- Student Services – Post and hold regular office hours; respect diversity and inclusion; participate in commencements and awards; provide letters of reference; peripheral: foster articulation with feeder schools and transfer universities; encourage internships and field experiences.
- Special Programs – Participate in programs to enhance instruction (e.g., career fairs, outreach).
Minimum Qualifications

Any Bachelor's or Master's degree AND two (2) years of professional experience OR any Associate degree AND six (6) years of professional experience.
This position is a part-time faculty teaching assignment with the following salary rates: Part-Time/Adjunct Salary Schedule. Degree and years of acceptable teaching experience determine step placement.
Offer and acceptance of employment is subject to verification of all information provided on the employment application, credentials, transcripts, LiveScan, and tuberculosis examination as required. Verification of prior employment may be needed to determine minimum qualifications met. Copies of transcripts MUST be attached to the application (photocopies & unofficial transcripts are accepted).

Supplemental Information and Compensation
COMPENSATION: Placement on the District Faculty Salary Schedule is dependent on experience and education. Entry-level ranges are shown on the schedule. The current highest salary attainable is listed on the schedule. Employees are members of the STRS. Sick leave and other leaves are available per the collective bargaining agreement.
