is currently looking for a Business Office Float.
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this position is to greet all who enter the building, determine the nature of business, and provide assistance. The role also schedules surgery and special procedures with physicians’ offices to be performed at the center, completes insurance verification, registers patients scheduled for surgery, and performs related duties as assigned.
POSITION DUTIES
Call all patients scheduled for surgery preoperatively, verify their demographics and insurance information.
Review the appropriate admission forms with patients via phone and obtain consents to treat.
Review financial obligations on call and collect monies if needed.
Call patients the day before surgery and collect any monies due that haven’t been paid in advance.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Function efficiently as a member of the surgery center team.
Provide assistance to team members, physicians, and anesthesia personnel as needed (reliability, initiative, work relations, training needs).
Develop communication skills and promote departmental relationships to ensure continuity of care.
Participate in on‑going committee and other educational programs to enhance patient care.
Verify patient identity in compliance with the Identity Theft Policy.
Position Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
1 year of medical insurance verification (REQUIRED).
2+ years of medical insurance verification (PREFERRED).
Ability to read and understand insurance explanation of benefits and managed care contracts.
Telephone and communication skills.
Excellent multitasking skills.
Detail oriented and organized.
