is currently looking for a Patient Registration/Insurance Verifier to join the team!
JOB SUMMARY The primary responsibility of this position is to greet all that enter the building, determine nature of business and provide assistance. In addition, schedule surgery and special procedures with physicians’ offices to be performed at the center and complete insurance verification. The primary responsibility of this position is also to register all patients scheduled for surgery.
POSITION DUTIES
Call all patients scheduled for surgery preoperatively, verify their demographics and insurance information.
Review the appropriate admission forms with patients via phone and obtain consents to treat.
Review financial obligations on call and collect monies if needed.
Call patients the day before surgery and collect any monies due that haven’t been paid in advance.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Function efficiently as a member of the surgery center team.
Provide assistance to team members, physicians, and anesthesia personnel as needed (i.e., reliability, initiative, work relations, training needs).
Develop communication skills and promote departmental relationships to ensure continuity of care.
Participate in on-going committees and other educational programs to enhance patient care.
Verify patient identity in compliance with the Identity Theft Policy.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
High school diploma or equivalent.
1 year of medical insurance verification REQUIRED.
2+ years of medical insurance verification PREFERRED.
Ability to read and understand insurance explanation of benefits and managed‑care contracts.
Telephone and communication skills.
Excellent multitasking skills.
Detail‑oriented and organized.
USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date. If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.
