We are looking for an experienced GM to oversee Murray's Pizza & Wine Bar - a recently-opened pizza, small plates, and wine bar.

The team behind the successful, local concept Leaf & Grain is expanding and has opened a new concept in the Memorial area. Murray's Pizza & Wine is an upscale community restaurant featuring a focused wine and beverage list and a tight menu of innovative small plates & artisan pizzas. As General Manager, you would be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the service and beverage teams.

Responsibilities

Directly managing most dinner services

Recruiting and training service and beverage team members

Ensuring the continued development of all staff

Supervising or executing disciplinary actions

Scheduling and managing labor costs

Maintaining a culture of superior hospitality / customer service

Ensuring the team, at all levels, follows protocols and standards

Working with food and beverage teams to manage inventory and product costs

Ensuring the highest levels of product quality

Interacting with guests

Working with corporate team to develop and implement standard operating procedures

Attending weekly meetings with the corporate team

Managing restaurant-level P&L

Running daily, pre-shift meetings with the service and beverage teams

Collaborating closely with Chef de Cuisine and culinary team

Ensuring adherence to all laws, regulations, and internal rules

Other tasks as necessary to ensure ongoing success of the restaurant

Qualifications

Prior experience as a General Manager of an upscale restaurant

Demonstrated history of creating high levels of guest service

Strong intrapersonal skills

Robust understanding of TABC requirements

Able to work a minimum of 55 hours per week with necessary flexibility to manage and operate the restaurant

Must be able to work standing and walking for extended periods

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Physical Requirements

Ability to bend and squat frequently

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

Performance-based bonus potential available as well.

Relocation bonus for exceptional out-of-town candidates available.
