Job Description Summary The Business Development Manager for Generator Products is responsible for driving growth through strategic partnerships, market analysis, and customer engagement for the Americas Nuclear installed base. The role involves developing and executing go‑to‑market strategies for Generator Products upgrades, replacements, and services, overseeing sales from prospect to proposal, contract negotiation, and deal closure. The candidate must have deep product and industry knowledge, proven selling experience in the energy sector, and the ability to lead complex deal cycles with technical and commercial stakeholders. They will collaborate with product management, manufacturing, engineering, finance, and execution teams to ensure technical and business alignment.
As a member of the segment team, the manager contributes to $1B+ operating plans and drives significant opportunity pipeline generation, delivering best‑in‑class processes for the Nuclear Segment and enabling the business to achieve targeted sales outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities
Generator Products, Upgrade and Services SME – support commercial operations with bid development and customer conversations on scope/technology solutions.
Deep domain knowledge of Generator Manufacturing, Upgrading, Replacing and Servicing.
Lead Generator Demand creation – analyze market strategies and business requirements/process, recommending actions for implementation.
Support Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) demand management planning – deliver scenario planning requirements for supply (risk and opportunities) aligned to segment financials.
Participate and lead key industry technical events – coordinate across organization to assess participation, content, deliverables and desired outcomes.
Directly interface with customers on products and solutions to support pipeline demand creation.
Support the Account Management and Parts and Repairs Teams with Generator Product training, customer engagements, and business development efforts.
Maintain awareness of market and competitive landscape – support forecasting process.
Support demand creation activities, including economic modelling (Customer Value Modeling) for large complex projects; organize data inputs into an existing model to evaluate investment needs.
Analyze market strategies and business requirements/process, recommending actions for implementation.
Lead or participate in LEAN initiatives and principles to support the Sales and Commercial teams.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the Power Generation Industry.
Minimum of 10+ years of experience working with and knowledge of Generator Products.
Desired Qualifications
Postgraduate degree(s) in business and/or engineering.
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities effectively.
Demonstrated inclusive behavior and success in leading within a matrix organization.
Clear thinking with effective communication at all levels.
Working knowledge of Power Services product portfolio and business segments.
Self‑motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Leadership of programs/prospects.
