About the Opportunity A leading international law firm is hiring a Business Development Specialist. In this role, you will support cross-functional teams on a wide range of business development, marketing, and revenue-generating initiatives across practice groups, including Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring, Corporate, Labor & Employment, Life Sciences, Real Estate, Tax, and Technology.
You will assist with strategic planning, event execution, pitch and RFP development, market research, industry visibility, and experience management while supporting firmwide Clients & Markets objectives.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in a legal environment, professional services, or marketing/business development role preferred
Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
Proven success in a fast-paced environment with high expectations for client service, quality, and attention to detail
Collaborative team mindset with flexibility, curiosity, and an interest in continuous improvement
Strong time management, organizational skills, and the ability to meet evolving deadlines
Effective research skills with the ability to transform data into actionable insights
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage competing priorities
Key Responsibilities
Support and, when required, lead planning and execution of firm events, including seminars, webinars, client entertainment, and receptions
Manage audience development by building targeted invitation lists, tracking RSVPs, and coordinating follow-up efforts
Maintain the firm’s contact management database, perform queries, and generate reports
Coordinate sponsorships and annual memberships to fully leverage branding and visibility opportunities
Develop persuasive pitches, RFP responses, and tailored marketing collateral to support business growth
Conduct market research in collaboration with the library to inform strategic initiatives, competitive positioning, and client targeting
Gather intelligence on legal industry trends to help attorneys understand the competitive landscape and identify business opportunities
Contribute to legal directory submissions (such as Chambers USA and Legal 500) to increase market recognition
Collaborate with Public Relations, Communications, and Digital Marketing teams to highlight key deals, client news, and practice achievements
Maintain and update the firm’s experience management database and generate reports as needed
Support marketing communications initiatives, including website updates, attorney biographies, and online profiles
Complete special projects assigned by the leadership team
Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and a solutions-focused mindset in interactions with internal and external stakeholders
