Senior Associate, Corporate Transactions Group - FDD
Join Alvarez & Marsal as a Senior Associate in Corporate Transactions Group – Functional Deal Delivery. Focus on operational and execution aspects of the M&A life cycle, from early diligence through post‑close implementation, across industries such as manufacturing, distribution, consumer, retail, healthcare, software & technology, aerospace, defense, and energy.
Responsibilities
Assist with core financial due diligence: identify key risks, assess strengths and weaknesses against industry benchmarks, and evaluate transactions within client investment strategy.
Analyze detailed financial statement information (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and operational data) and convert data into actionable insights for client discussions.
Assess quality of target company’s reported earnings, net assets and cash flows.
Construct deal‑oriented reports and presentations, highlighting key findings, valuation impacts and negotiation points.
Participate in meetings with target management and client personnel, serving as secondary contact for day‑to‑day execution matters.
Build and maintain client relationships and support business development opportunities.
Mentor and counsel CTG associates and analysts; develop and teach training courses.
Research technical accounting subjects relevant to CTG to deliver exceptional client services.
Coordinate with A&M service groups during engagements, delegate work to associates, and review work to develop team members.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of financial accounting due diligence experience at a top accounting firm.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or related major.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
Working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting and purchase accounting.
High proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and database skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), including ability to articulate to senior target managers and clients.
Proficient in basic project management skills.
Flexibility to work as a team member and individual contributor.
Willingness to travel for projects as required.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
