Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced
Senior Enterprise Network Design Engineer
to join our team in Manhattan. This role requires deep expertise in designing, deploying, and managing complex enterprise-wide network environments with a strong focus on
Cisco Meraki Wireless ,
Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) , and
SD‑WAN technologies . The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, deliver innovative solutions, and ensure the stability and scalability of mission‑critical network infrastructure.
Location: Manhattan, New York (Onsite). Travel: 10–15% to locations throughout NY & NJ.
Company: Supporting a Fortune 200 Financial Services Organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and document Cisco WAN & LAN network solutions for large‑scale enterprise environments.
Lead technical consulting engagements and provide comprehensive project leadership from design through deployment.
Implement and manage Cisco SD‑WAN / Viptela / Fortinet solutions.
Deploy and maintain enterprise wireless networks, including:
Cisco Wireless Controllers & Access Points
Cisco Meraki Wireless & Switching solutions
Configure and manage EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF routing protocols in enterprise environments.
Implement VLAN technology and ensure network segmentation best practices.
Utilize network analysis, management, and performance monitoring tools to optimize network performance and plan for growth.
Maintain accurate network documentation and diagrams using Visio.
Required Experience & Qualifications
10+ years of experience designing, deploying, and documenting Cisco WAN & LAN solutions in large enterprise environments.
10+ years of technical consulting and project leadership experience with proven ability to deliver successful solutions.
Hands‑on experience with Cisco SD‑WAN / Viptela / Fortinet technologies.
Expertise in enterprise wireless networking, including Cisco Meraki and Cisco Wireless Controllers.
Strong knowledge of EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, and VLAN technologies.
Familiarity with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) preferred.
Experience with network analysis tools and performance monitoring solutions.
Special Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Technical leadership with a solution‑focused mindset.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Familiarity with Agile methodology and ITIL‑based ticketing systems (ServiceNow experience a plus).
Strong documentation skills and proficiency in Visio for network diagrams.
Proven experience in network architecture and design.
Knowledge of HSRP, TCP/IP enhancements (multicast, QoS, bandwidth reservation).
Proficiency in configuring and maintaining routers, hubs, bridges, and switches.
Familiarity with sniffer tools (tcpdump, Ethereal) and Syslog analysis.
Python programming knowledge a plus.
Exposure to additional technologies such as:
Zscaler proxy/VPN
Palo Alto/Cisco firewalls
Load Balancing (Broadcom AVI)
SD‑WAN – Fortinet
