Registered Nurse, RN - Medical Surgical Float Pool at Tufts Medicine. This role involves providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care under physician orders. The position is a float pool across medical/surgical units (including oncology, adult surgical, transplant, etc.). Hours: 36 hours per week, rotating shifts. Job Profile Summary

The professional registered nurse possesses and applies the skills and knowledge necessary for the delivery and management of patient care from admission through discharge. The nurse is a patient and family advocate and collaborates with health care providers to deliver patient/family centered care. A nursing license is required. This is a professional individual contributor role that may direct work of others or manage processes and programs; relies on advanced knowledge and practice in the field. Duties and Responsibilities

Provide age-appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients and families, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and communicate plans of care and discharge plans. Develop and orchestrate individualized care plans, coordinate interdisciplinary meetings, and utilize community resources to ensure seamless transitions. Implement the plan safely and timely; document care and modifications; collaborate with colleagues to provide evidence-based interventions and health teaching; document per hospital requirements. Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and adjust as needed based on patient response and outcomes. Demonstrate clinical judgment, evidence-based practice, and culturally sensitive care across patient populations. Administer medications safely and monitor patient responses; maintain competency with clinical technology and equipment. Engage in patient safety and quality initiatives; participate in performance improvement activities and governance processes. Delegate appropriately, communicate professionally, and foster a collaborative work environment. Minimum Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) relevant to department and care may be required. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Specialty nursing certifications. Physical Requirements

Prolonged standing/walking; ability to lift, position, push, and transfer patients and equipment. Ceiling to floor mobility tasks, reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling; exposure to hazardous materials and bodily fluids. Frequent exposure to infectious conditions and bloodborne pathogens; handle emergencies and varying situations; may work irregular hours. Skills & Abilities

Ability to care for patients across the lifespan with age-appropriate communication and culturally sensitive care. Ability to work within unit guidelines and hospital policies; interpret data and provide age-specific care. Compensation

Pay Range: $41.76 - $68.89
