Overview and Essential Job Functions The Senior Operations Analyst is a cross‑functional project leader focused on enhancing the profitability and efficiency of the company. This analyst role drives strategic improvement and cross‑functional collaboration projects by leveraging data analysis, process evaluation, and performance metrics to optimize cash flow and support Acumen’s long‑term financial health.

Advanced Data Analysis And Reporting

Define and document functional and technical reporting requirements; work with data engineering teams to ensure data sourcing, transformation, and model design meet analytical and process improvement objectives

Serve as the liaison between business operations and data engineering, translating business objectives into technical requirements and ensuring alignment

Leverage tools like Excel and Power BI to surface insights, track trends, and support data‑driven decision‑making, with a focus on identifying actionable opportunities for efficiency

Set and monitor key performance indicators, and communicate trends and risks

Employ advanced analytical tools and methodologies to develop forecasts and models that predict potential future challenges in billing

Process Evaluation And Insights

Serve as a strategic partner to operational teams by understanding challenges faced and proposing technology solutions to improve efficiency or accuracy

Conduct end‑to‑end assessments of workflows, systems, and operations to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and risks

Provide actionable insights and recommendations that inform leadership decisions and help prioritize operational initiatives

Maintain current‑state process documentation to support governance, risk management, and operational transparency

Apply advanced root‑cause analysis (RCA) and data‑driven techniques to uncover systemic issues and trends

Process & Technology Design

Lead the design and implementation of new processes, ensuring alignment between systems, people and data

Develop and document future‑state process designs that align with business goals and best practices

When short‑term technology solutions are needed, build out solutions using available resources such as Excel, Power Automate and Power BI

Create process documentation, training materials and communications to support adoption and change management

Facilitate process reviews and team retrospectives to capture lessons learned and continuously improve execution

Build reporting to capture key performance indicators to measure performance trends of new processes

For departmental or enterprise‑wide technology implementations, partner with the developing teams to understand the new system, advocate for the needs of the Finance department and build sustainable processes to support the new system

Operational Excellence, Risk & Change Management

Build and leverage strong relationships across departments to understand business challenges, influence decision‑making and drive the adoption of new processes and systems

Identify operational risks and control gaps, and collaborate with operational teams to measure and mitigate risk

Serve as a champion for change, helping teams adopt new processes, technology and reporting tools

Facilitate education and feedback sessions to ensure cross‑functional alignment, opportunities for feedback and foster a culture of continuous improvement

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Analytics, Operations Management or related field

Six Sigma Green Belt Certified

5+ years of experience in operations analysis, process improvement, or business consulting

Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling

Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills

Experience in process documentation, requirements gathering, and workflow redesign

Ability to balance hands‑on data work with strategic thinking and cross‑functional collaboration

Change management and stakeholder facilitation experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SQL, Excel, and other data analysis tools

Exposure to automation tools (Power Automate, Alteryx, etc.) or system integration projects

Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall)

Proficient in Microsoft Visio
