The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and legal support to our attorneys, ensuring the smooth running of our office and effective case management. Responsibilities
Maintain comprehensive and accurate case files.
Conduct state filing online federal filing using ECF/Pacer.
Utilize compulaw docketing for case management and scheduling.
Monitor and adhere to strict deadlines, maintaining a detailed calendar for attorneys.
Coordinate billing procedures and ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
Prepare and update case status reports for both clients and attorneys.
Prepare folders and necessary documents for paralegals and attorneys.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring all correspondence is dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
Conduct legal research to support case development and strategy.
Provide litigation support, including document review and preparation of legal correspondence.
Manage complex civil litigation and appeals litigation cases.
Act as a heavy scheduler, managing appointments, court dates, and other important events.
Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within a legal environment.
Proficiency in legal case management and legal assistance.
Experience with legal software, specifically compulaw docketing and ECF/Pacer.
Demonstrated expertise in litigation support, document review and preparation of legal correspondence.
Proven experience handling complex civil litigation and appeals litigation.
Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage heavy scheduling and multiple deadlines.
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong research skills and attention to detail.
A high level of discretion and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate needs and work independently.
A professional demeanor, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys and other staff members.
