Job Summary and Responsibilities

Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.

Conduct thorough medical examinations and obtain patient histories.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams; provide clear and concise medical information.

Foster a collaborative, patient‑centered approach to healthcare.

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records, document findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans, and ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.

Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and imaging, and perform procedures as needed.

Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals; participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.

Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.

Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives; review and analyze clinical outcomes and implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.

Adhere to ethical and legal standards, stay informed about healthcare regulations, participate in quality audits, and engage in ongoing medical education and training.

Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.

Job Requirements

American Board Certified or Board Eligible in a specified area of medical specialty.

Valid, unrestricted state medical license or license‑eligible.

BC/BE in General Internal Medicine.

Eligibility for a medical license in Nebraska and Iowa.

Active participation in research and publications (highly desired).

Where You'll Work Creighton University Medical Center and CHI Health Clinic are seeking an Academic Hospitalist to join our hospital medicine team. As part of the academic hospitalist team you will actively participate in scholarly activities, including quality improvement and medical education. The program offers a built‑in referral base of 250+ primary care providers, a 54‑bed closed ICU, optional procedures, accessible and timely specialty consult support, potential leadership opportunities, and an academic appointment with Creighton University School of Medicine.

Benefits & Compensation

Competitive salary with quality incentive plans.

Day shift with some night call from home.

Average census of 16 patients per physician.

Pay range: $150.04 – $150.04 per hour.
