Job Description
JOB SUMMARY Works under moderate supervision to provide veterinary medical and surgical services for research animals in accordance with federal laws and other organizational requirements.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required
Education DVM or VMD degree from Accredited Veterinarian Medical Association school, and Completion of two (2) to three (3) year postdoctoral training program in laboratory animal medicine
Experience 3 years to five (5) years related veterinary experience.
Licenses and Certifications Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the United States Upon Hire
Preferred
Licenses and Certifications American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM) diplomat Upon Hire
JOB DUTIES
Provides medical and surgical care for research animals.
Coordinates health assessments of incoming non-commercial research animals.
Assists in Institutional Animal Care and Research Advisory Committee protocol reviews.
Represents Animal Resources Center Director concerning animal health issues in event of his/her absence.
Communicates with research staff and faculty regarding animal health and welfare.
Coordinates quarantine and health maintenance of animal colonies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
