Construction FP&A Manager

Role Overview The Construction FP&A Manager within the Investments Controlling Development and Construction team is responsible for financial performance controlling, planning & reporting and target setting for the Onshore Wind, Solar and Energy Storage businesses in the Americas region. Working as a strategic partner and trusted advisor with the business, the manager evaluates improvement measures, actively gives recommendations, and provides business decision support.

Role Responsibilities

Lead and support timely financial planning and analysis for the construction team, completing accurate, high-quality reporting/planning/forecasting with business stakeholders and RWECE leadership.

Lead and manage direct reports and others within the Investments Controlling team, reviewing work product, setting expectations, mentoring, and providing performance feedback.

Own tasks and deliverables related to quarterly forecasting, MTP (mid‑term planning), monthly performance dialogs, business cases, ad‑hoc analyses, special topics and savings initiatives.

Support overall budget (MTP) and forecast reporting for CapEx, including consolidation and crafting a narrative on CapEx investments and variances to actuals and plan for SVPs and RWECE leadership.

Lead and support monthly reporting for the specific project(s) the role supports—including preparing journal entries, free cash flow reporting, and detailed analysis of resource and non‑resource costs.

Integrate systems and change management by supporting company‑wide top priorities, special projects, and integration activities (e.g., organizational changes and M&A growth).

Prepare materials for and lead meetings with Senior Management, RWECE C‑suite, RWECE Board, and other stakeholders.

Coordinate overarching topics and related financial impacts across the business as the primary contact within the team.

Support the proactive pursuit of best practices, processes, standardization, and tools that drive gains in efficiency, automation, and quality.

Support company‑wide top priorities, special projects, and integration activities following recent organizational structure change and increased growth targets.

Job Requirements and Experiences

BA/BS in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Business (required); MBA or an advanced degree is a plus but not required.

Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in FP&A, Accounting, Controlling, Financial or Management Consulting or other finance‑related fields; some corporate FP&A background required; renewable energy experience is a plus.

Ability to motivate and develop team members.

Analytical and proactive problem‑solver.

Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships.

Excellent proficiency with SAP (moderate to advanced), Excel (moderate to advanced), PowerPoint; experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other system/tools is a plus.

Strong leadership and communication skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables.

Ability to multi‑task while working independently and as part of a team.

Motivated self‑starter, goal‑oriented, and strong problem‑solving abilities.

Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from diverse backgrounds.

Detail‑oriented with strong business acumen and a sound understanding of business concepts.

General accounting and IFRS knowledge is a plus.

Language: English (fluent); German is a plus.

Other duties as assigned.

Pay range The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $126,000 – $170,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and serves as a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, key skills, and market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
