Construction FP&A Manager RWE Clean Energy, LLC – Chicago, IL (Full‑time, permanent, immediate start)

Overview:

The Construction FP&A Manager within the Investments Controlling Development and Construction team is responsible for financial performance controlling, planning & reporting and target setting for the Onshore Wind, Solar and Energy Storage businesses in the Americas region. Working as a strategic partner and trusted advisor with the business, evaluates improvement measures, actively gives recommendations, and provides business decision support.

Responsibilities

Lead and support timely financial planning and analysis for the construction team, delivering accurate, high‑quality reporting/planning/forecasting with stakeholders and leadership.

Lead and manage direct reports and other team members, reviewing work, setting expectations, mentoring and providing guidance and performance feedback.

Own quarterly forecasting, MTP (mid‑term planning), monthly performance dialogues, business cases, ad‑hoc analyses, special topics and savings initiatives.

Support overall budget and forecast reporting for CapEx, including consolidation and storytelling on CapEx investments and variances to actuals and plans for SVPs and leadership.

Lead monthly reporting for the specific project(s) the role supports, including journal entries, free‑cash‑flow reporting and detailed analysis of resource and non‑resource costs.

Integrate systems and change management by supporting company‑wide priorities, special projects and integration activities such as M&A growth.

Prepare materials and lead meetings with Senior Management, C‑suite, Board and other stakeholders.

Coordinate overarching financial impacts across the business as the primary contact within the team.

Drive continuous process improvement, pursuing best practices, standardization, tools that increase efficiency, automation and quality.

Support company‑wide priorities and special projects following recent organizational changes and growth targets.

Requirements & Experience

BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business (required); MBA or advanced degree a plus.

Minimum 8 years of professional experience in FP&A, Accounting, Controlling, Financial or Management Consulting or related fields (some Corporate FP&A required); renewable energy experience a plus.

Ability to motivate and develop team members.

Analytical and proactive problem‑solver.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage customer relationships.

Excellent proficiency with SAP (moderate‑to‑advanced), Excel (moderate‑to‑advanced), PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI; other system/tools experience a plus.

Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to meet deadlines.

Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables.

Ability to multi‑task, work independently and as part of a team.

Motivated self‑starter, goal‑oriented, strong problem‑solving abilities.

Proven ability to empathize, build relationships and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds.

Detail‑oriented with strong business acumen and sound understanding of business concepts.

General accounting and IFRS knowledge a plus.

Language: English (fluent); German a plus.

Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $126,000 – $170,000.
