The Logistics Support Specialist is a critical, high visibility role within Shorr’s rapidly growing organization. This position is responsible for assisting with the tactical needs within Shorr’s Logistics team. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Tracking shipments, resolving service delays, obtaining proof of deliveries, assisting with the coordination of outbound 3PL shipments, inbound vendor and drop ship shipments, and ensuring timely deliveries to meet our customer’s requirements. The role will also identify opportunities for process improvement. Responsibilities
Resolve carrier service issues such as missed pickups, transit delays, and claims while communicating with all applicable parties to keep them updated on shipment status. Perform daily shipment tracking for strategic customer deliveries to ensure expectations are met. Obtain delivery documentation such as proof of deliveries as requested by Shorr customer service. Facilitate communication between Customer Service, Shorr’s 3PL warehouses, vendors, and carriers to support a high level of logistical service. Provide insight into how current processes can be improved. Assist in the routing and carrier optimization process. Assist with various carrier reports ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Requirements
High school diploma or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of logistics, transportation, supply chain, and freight coordination is a plus. Strong organization and interpersonal skills, along with being a strong team player. Ability to move from task to task in a very fast-paced environment. High sense of urgency and the ability to resolve issues promptly with exceptional follow-up skills. Proactive mindset with exceptional customer service skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and work with little oversight. Must be available after hours and weekends during peak season (October through December) to monitor shipments and respond to urgent matters. Demonstrate leadership skills and take ownership of assigned tasks and goals. Strong relationship building with vendors, customer service, and division management. Strong Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Word, and Excel. Preferred understanding of all modes of transportation including LTL, truckload, and small package. Preferred understanding of LTL pricing including accessorial application. Benefits
