Job Description The Chief Financial Officer oversees the financial health and strategy of the company. The CFO directs the company’s financial activities including treasury, accounting, tax, financial planning and analysis, risk management, reporting, and capital management to support sustainable growth. The CFO works with the COO and the CEO to support the capital needs and capital structure of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Leads budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
Develops financial strategies that align with business objectives
Ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Oversees treasury, tax, and audit functions
Provides financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and board
Manages investor relations and capital structure
Identifies and mitigates financial risks to safeguard company assets
Advises senior management with respect to strategic initiatives and seeks to minimize tax burden
Researches and implements accounting policy changes resulting from regulatory changes or strategic growth of the business
Direct liaison with the external auditors responsible for the company’s annual audit
Leads the company’s long‑term financial planning
Work closely with investment banks and the CEO on capital structure
Supports senior management and owner’s information and analytical needs for reports on business performance
Prepares financial analysis in support of the company’s strategic initiatives such as M&A activity, changes in ownership, etc.
Maintains company records relating to equity ownership, distributions, etc.
Ensures timely payment of principal and interest on the company’s term loan(s) and ensures compliance with applicable covenants under the company’s credit agreement(s)
Advises senior management and owners regarding business financing needs and capital structure considerations
Provides a minimum of one piece of valuable feedback in Threads every two weeks for a team member
Consistently reads feedback and follows up with relevant mentoring, encouragement and accountability for individuals on team
Ensures reviews are completed on schedule and effectively communicates reviews, compensation and standing within the organization with each team member
Requirements
Extensive experience and understanding of the investment business and the company’s products and services
A deep understanding of capital markets and the ability and experience to manage processes with investment banks
Overall leadership ability to work in a team atmosphere and drive key decisions
Strong planning, organizational, analytical, technical, presentation and oral communication skills
Strong background in tax strategy, and operational oversight
Excellent financial modeling, strategic planning, and communication skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA and/or CPA preferred
Minimum 10 years of experience in financial leadership roles
