Position Research Science Manager – Fort Worth Codes and Tools (Signature Integration – Aeronautics)

Location & Clearance Fort Worth, TX | Active Secret clearance (Top‑Secret preferred)

Description Lockheed Martin Aeronautics seeks a Research Science Manager to lead multiple software‑development groups that support the ADP, F‑35, and IFG lines of business. Reporting to the Signature Integration Senior Manager within the Signature Management & Survivability Directorate, the successful candidate will be a recognized technical leader and expert in RCS/IR reduction and low observable hardware development/integration. The manager must quickly master the Codes and Tools team’s tools, scope, technical requirements, risks, and delivery milestones while delivering high quality results. Superior verbal and written communication skills are essential; the incumbent must convey complex technical concepts clearly in customer briefings, technical reviews, and written reports.

Responsibilities

On site daily management of a multidisciplinary team through all phases of the software lifecycle.

Coordinate and implement staffing strategy by supplying people, processes, tools, and technical support.

Manage Agile/SAFe delivery metrics, ensuring timely delivery of code, automated tests, and documentation.

Conduct detailed design and performance reviews; establish realistic task estimates and enforce best‑practice coding standards.

Champion DevSecOps (CI/CD pipelines, secure Git/GitLab workflows) in a classified environment.

Act as the primary technical liaison for customer briefings, technical reviews, and cross‑functional coordination with program and systems stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

STEM Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field).

Leadership experience in diverse and dynamic team environments.

Software architecture and design experience.

Hands on DevSecOps experience (CI/CD, Git/GitLab).

Proficiency in an object‑oriented language (C++, Java, Go, or equivalent).

Active Secret clearance (investigation within the past 5 years).

Experience delivering large scale signature data processing software.

Full software development lifecycle ownership (requirements through sustainment).

Desired Skills

Experience with relational databases and SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL).

AI/ML – building/training agents, converting models to production services, integrating with OMS framework.

Ability to develop Basis of Estimate (BOE) and produce credible cost‑schedule estimates.

Control Account Manager (CAM) experience.

Technical proposals and capture activities experience.

Experience running sprints, story point estimation, and continuous integration in a secure environment.

Master’s degree.

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills (verbal & written).

Clearance Level Top Secret (current requirement: Active Secret clearance)

Schedule 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.

Relocation Possible.
