Field Operations Technician – Ledcor
Join the Ledcor Technical Services team! We are looking for a skilled Field Operations Technician with over five years of experience working in telecommunications. You will perform installation, repair, configuration, and testing of moves, additions, changes, and disconnects (MACD) on various Nokia, Infinera, and Ciena equipment, as well as support customer optical, electrical, voice, and data services. Your emphasis on building trust with clients and delivering a best-in-class customer service experience will be the foundation for success.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide an elite customer service experience to all clients.
De-escalate customer concerns in a professional manner.
Work on-site at customer locations to install and repair internet, copper, and fiber cabling, rack‑mounted routers, and demarcation extensions.
Identify, analyze, and provide solutions to technical issues such as installing cable runs, swapping out cards, and installing data circuits for internet connections.
Maintain and adhere to Ledcor’s safety program with the use of all vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Qualifications
Five-plus years of experience in telecommunications, business installation, and service for electronics, appliances, security, and/or cabling.
A positive, “can‑do” attitude and customer‑focused approach that enables you to handle challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity.
Degree or diploma from a technical college (preferred).
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
Experience working independently in the field and thriving in a dynamic environment.
Clear and efficient verbal and written communication skills.
Work Conditions
On‑call evening and weekend work required.
Expected to travel with a company‑provided vehicle.
Must meet physical requirements, including sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights and in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, and operating in all types of weather conditions deemed safe.
