This position is based out of our Bardstown, KY bottling location.

What the Role Is The Bulk Liquid Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of ensuring liquid supply and processing of all liquids and processes into the bottling plant. This position will manage the Harvest room processes, liquid transfers, processing and ensure quality material is ready for transfer to bottling.

The Manager will coordinate activity of employees to transfer liquid, empty barrels, ensure products are gauged, filtered, and processed in accordance with the production schedule to meet production demands, support the bottling lines and alleviate any potential disruptions in the manufacturing process flow. This position will also develop, lead and champion a culture of continuous improvement through the engagement of employees in all aspects of processing including safety, productivity, ready‑order metrics and cost‑savings opportunities.

Responsibilities

Supervise, direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in liquid transfer barrel processing of distilled spirits

Manage scheduling of bulk inventory quantities for production needs.

Keep accurate records for TTB compliance.

Work to maintain proper inventories in IFS (enterprise resource planning system).

Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs

Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals

Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards

Ensure all quality control parameters are met and make appropriate recommendations to change operations to improve quality or consistency

Procure processing supplies including filters, chemicals & filter‑aide

Monitor inventories and procure fructose and sucrose

Oversee daily operation of RO and DI water systems, order chemicals, schedule maintenance

Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers

Provide feedback to employees regarding job performance and personal development

Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked for eleven union employees, one exempt Quality Assurance Processing Specialist, and two Non‑Exempt Quality Assurance Processing Technicians.

Analyze data from enterprise resource planning system (IFS) to predict and manage demand for bottle‑ready spirits

Work cooperatively with bottling scheduler and dump room manager to plan the most efficient flow of incoming spirits/materials and the processing of bottle‑ready liquid to meet the demands of the bottling shop floor

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, technical or related field.

Minimum 4 years previous management/supervisory experience, preferably in a processing, distillation or spirits manufacturing environment

Previous work‑related experience in spirits industry

Proficient computer skills including planning and inventory software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and time and attendance software, and enterprise resource planning systems

Previous experience with forecasting, planning and inventory management and negotiating pricing.

Strong knowledge and understanding of RO and DI water equipment

Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills

Hands‑on experience with hazardous materials and confined space entry

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational and time management skills

Possess strong leadership and problem‑solving skills with the ability to lead effectively in a union environment

Encourage and demonstrate a strong sense of teamwork with employees across departments and across the company

Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job

Ability to determine the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one

Identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits

Valued But Not Required Skills and Experience

Chemistry experience and/or background

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles

Physical Requirements

Stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms.
