FAR INSPECTIONS
FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.
What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. With an occupancy verification, we send independent contractors to confirm that a property is occupied and report on its general condition using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; roughly 10% require interior photos after a property has gone vacant.
Responsibilities
Complete most inspections in 5–6 minutes.
Finish each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Be able to spend extended periods driving and making numerous stops during the day within the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with an internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume, but you will earn the equivalent of approximately $30–$40 per hour. Depending on your county and whether it is urban or rural, you could complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set number of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month to month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or are willing to cover a larger territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
